NORTHlake Whare

The site was located in the Northlake, Wanaka with spectacular western views. The interior design embraced a Scandinavian minimalistic aesthetic. Inside, the home featured an airlock entry and three bedrooms, including a master with an ensuite and walk-in robe. The ensuite showcases oversized tiles and a double shower. The main bathroom has been centrally positioned between the two secondary bedrooms.

Engineered timber flooring was installed in the main living areas entry. The living area was designed with a high-level window to maximise the western views, featuring scissor trusses over the living and dining rooms, and a flat ceiling above the kitchen.

Additional interior features included a bench-height window splashback, a laundry located in the garage, attic trusses within the garage, split-system heat pumps, and under-tile heating with mirror pads.

Externally, the home rested on a rib raft foundation and featured a stone entrance with 200mm Schist cladding. The roof had a twin gable design with a wide link between them, clad in metal roofing. Exterior walls were clad in warm-toned cedar vertical shiplap, finished with darker colour tones for the roof and joinery. The outdoor entertaining area had an exposed aggregate surface with a 150mm step down. Aluminum thermal suite windows and doors completed the exterior details.
