The site offered spectacular views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding mountain ranges. The proposed build is a new high-performance home, oriented towards the lake while providing sheltered outdoor entertainment areas. The site was subject to specific covenants, including height restrictions, colour specifications, rainwater collection, requirements for firefighting water tanks, and landscaping guidelines.

Internally, the home features an oversized double garage with extra depth for a workbench, a storage room adjacent to the mudroom designed to accommodate sports equipment and other items, and a laundry conveniently located near the mudroom. The kitchen includes a tall pantry, an east-facing window with a view, and an oven positioned against the south wall, with no sink in the island. Additional features include a wood fireplace connected to a wetback, underfloor heating throughout (excluding the garage), engineered timber flooring, and LifeMark Homes certification.

The master bedroom is designed to capture mountain views and follow the path of the full moon, with landscaping to ensure privacy. The home also incorporates a study convertible to a bedroom, positioned privately from the main living areas, a guest bedroom with additional bunk beds, a main bathroom with a separate WC, an airlock entry, and cavity sliders to close off private areas, along with ample storage throughout.

Externally, the design includes sheltered wood storage, a garage situated in the south-eastern corner, level thresholds, and sheltered courtyards integrated into the layout. Cladding materials consist of cedar, dark metal, and tightly stacked schist, ensuring that all primary rooms—including the guest bedroom and study—take full advantage of the stunning views.
